WW Diversity Coalition's Annual Multicultural Arts Festival

Here's to another fabulous Diversity Day Multicultural Arts Festival! 

You are invited to participate in the next Annual WW Diversity Coalition's Multicultural Arts Festival. Every year our festival celebrates the diversity in the Walla Walla area. This year's festival will be held at Heritage Square Park in downtown Walla Walla on Sunday, April 27.

The festival theme is “We’re All in This TogetherCome Celebrate our Diversity & Unity.” The event will formally open at noon with a variety of food vendors, crafts, games, information booths, music and dance performances, and more.  

This year’s festival revives a 25 year tradition of the Diversity Coalition’s multicultural arts festivals.  The annual festival drew thousands of people each year and for many became their favorite community event. It drew a mix of people from a variety of ethnic, racial, religious and other backgrounds. The event featured booths and performances from many different traditions, was cosponsored by the City of Walla Walla and other organizations, and was included in the City’s official vision statement set out in its comprehensive plan as characteristic of our community’s future.
 
For past events, the City, County, and neighboring communities officially proclaimed the day of the festival Diversity Day, and this year the Coalition is requesting that they declare April 27 Unity and Diversity Day in the Walla Walla Valley.

High quality entertainment is planned throughout the day, including music and dance performances reflecting the traditions and artistic influences of diverse cultures and nationalities. A wide array of games and activities for youngsters and young adults make the Multicultural Arts Festival an enjoyable experience for the entire family. The festival’s upbeat and joyous atmosphere increases respect and appreciation while encouraging spontaneous, friendly interaction between people of all races and all cultures.

Participation in the Walla Walla Diversity Coalition is open to agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals of all national, racial, religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds interested in promoting unity as well as appreciation for diversity in our community.
