In March, 2006, Ben Waterman participated in an exhibit of woodfire ceramics at Honeychurch Antiques in Seattle. The exhibit brought together several Pacific Northwest artists as well as Shimaoka Tatsuzo, Toyoda Mokugen, and Kanzaki Shiho, three prolific artists from Japan.
Ben will display his work and share his feelings about woodfire ceramics and Japanese aesthetics from November 13 to November 17. His work will be on display in the Sheehan Gallery Tea Room as well as two display spaces in Penrose Library. The lecture on Monday night is sponsored by the program in Asian Studies with a grant from the Freeman Foundation and will be free and open to the public.
