Nov '14 Walla Walla Diversity Coalition Meeting

Nov 11, 2014

Time: Noon

Location: Glover Alston Center on the Whitman College campus

Phone: Annie Capestany at 525 8602

If this is your lunch hour please feel free to bring your lunch. If you know of anyone interested in diversity and making the community safe and enjoyable for people of different faiths, sexual orientation, ages, or political views please invite them to attend.

Coalition Meetings open to the public, including agenda time for any new concerns regarding ethnic or cultural relations in our community which may be presented by any member of the public.

Currently, the coalition is organizing activities for Freedom from Discrimination Month, an annual event that raises awareness about different types of discrimination, with the hope of fostering equality. In the past, the coalition has brought speakers and exhibits to Walla Walla to educate and enlighten the community. This year, the group is educating itself. Coalition members have been reaching out to groups and neighborhoods in our community that might feel marginalized or forgotten, or that might feel they are the “other Walla.”
